I graduated from NC State's College of Design in 2007, and am currently working with the in-house design group at Red Hat, where I do a little bit of everything but focus on our print communications and branding.

So what keeps me excited about design? The idea that design can help someone look at something in a new way. That it can create experiences (onscreen or otherwise) that delight and inform. That, when combined with the attitudes and methods of anthropolgists, it can solve problems and improve our lives. That it can make abstract concepts visual, real, and understandable.

In my free time, I make things. Some of the things I make are on this site, but too many are scattered around my apartment, abandoned for the sake of whatever new idea I'm excited about now. In the near future, I will be blogging about these half-finished projects. Book binding projects, photography, DIY bits and pieces, type experiments, characters and toys, prints of all kinds, needlework...everything. I hope this will give them a shot at life on their own, finished or not.

Of course, I'm always looking for a juicy bit of freelance work. And don't worry, its only the projects I do for myself that don't get finished.
